Household Items
Q. How do I pack them?
A. For Furniture:
  • Place pallet, corrugated board or mat on floor for sofas and mattresses (These should be standing on end).
  • Disassemble beds and tables; wrap table legs in paper.
  • Place tabletops side down if they cannot be disassembled.
  • Place lightweight chairs stacked ‘seat-to-seat’.
  • Keep upholstery off the floor.
  • Protect furniture with a dust cover. Please do not use plastic wrap, however, as this traps in moist air.
Q.
  For Appliances:
  • Refrigerators, freezers and washing machines should be dried thoroughly and stored with doors slightly ajar.
  • All cooking equipment should be cleaned thoroughly.
  • Protect appliances with stretch film.
Q.
  For Dishes and Glassware:

  • Leave no loose space in between or around the box.

Commercial Items
Q. How do I pack them?
A. For Documents:
  • Pack files, records and documents flat down to protect the spines of the folders.
  • Fill empty spaces in boxes with packing materials.
  • Do not overload; separate books from files and documents.
  • Do not place boxes directly on the floor. Instead, place them on pallets to minimise moisture absorption.
Q.
  For Metal Items:
  • Clean all metal equipment with a drop of machine oil to prevent rusting.
  • Protect appliances with stretch film.
